Unleashed Stories

Abigail

High School - Student - Sports - Children & Youth - Mission Trip

Abigail is a junior in high school and LOVES soccer. She worked hard to maintain her good grades and advance in her soccer skills to secure her spot as a co-captain on her team - and hopefully an athletic scholarship in college.

This past summer at youth camp, Abigail heard from a family who spent most of their lives overseas, connecting with all different people and sharing the Gospel. After hearing that testimony, she was inspired to see more of the world and explore how she can make an impact.

With the guidance of her youth pastor, she was able to find a trip opportunity that fits her really well - teaching skills at a youth soccer camp in Sweden that shares Gospel stories and truths each day. Abigail is ready to take this next step in her spiritual journey, while continuing to use her love of soccer - and hopefully inspire other students along the way!

Cason

Young Adult - Nursing - Disaster Relief - Global Professionals

Cason has been working at a local hospital as an ER nurse for a few years now. In that short time, he has gained so much experience caring for many different people and enduring the trials of being a healthcare worker during a global pandemic.

Each day, Cason's job allows him to model the love, care, and hope of Christ to each patient who comes through the door. Last year, he went on a disaster relief trip to Puerto Rico, to help in a clinic that cared for those injured in the devastation.

He’s been talking with his small group and his family about potentially taking a year or two to do travel nursing in a hospital in the Middle East. He has asked them to pray along with him for wisdom as he continues to look for opportunities and makes the decision for his next chapter.

Mark

Senior Adult - Retiree - Mentorship - Refugees - Urban Areas

Mark loves being a grandpa to his six grandkids, ranging from ages three to sixteen. Although Mark is in his late 60’s, he works part-time as an attorney; he’s good at what he does. He already serves in his church’s children’s ministry but has been wondering how he can also use his skills as an attorney to help people in need.

One Sunday, Mark learns about serving opportunities in his community for working professionals within a variety of industries. Curious, Mark approaches his church’s connections team and asks for more information. He is directed to a website with different serving postings and finds a posting for a volunteer attorney with a ministry serving refugees. Mark immediately calls and learns more about the commitments and requirements needed to serve in this role. He clears a weekly time slot in his schedule to meet with people within the refugee community.

As Mark begins to meet with refugee families and offer his guidance as an attorney, the Lord begins transforming his heart and mind. His weekly meetings with refugee families are quickly becoming his favorite part of his week — besides spending time with his grandkids of course.
