Prayer is the first step. Pray and ask God where he would have you go. Allow him to lead you into your next steps. Take into consideration locations and the time of year for the trip making sure it works into your family and work schedule. As rewarding and life-changing a short-term trip experiences can be, they can also be stressful. Please consider personal factors that may distract or prohibit you from full commitment to the trip mission and adapting to unusual conditions.

Family Trips (with parents): 7 years old

Student Trips (with student leaders): 6th through 12th grade

Adult Trips: 18 years old

Click on the trip name you have chosen. You will be taken to an opportunity page on ServiceReef, the online platform Southeast uses for mission trips, for a description and details, including skills needed, physical requirements, costs, and required forms. Click on the “APPLY” button, fill out the application, pay the non-refundable trip deposit, and submit all required paperwork before your application will be reviewed and processed. Once approved you will have access to your dashboard which is the primary hub for all info regarding your trip.

You will receive a confirmation email after you have submitted your application. Once reviewed and processed you will be notified upon approval.

All team members are responsible for the cost of the trip. Raising support is an integral part of your short-term missional experience. Trip participants are encouraged to invite friends and family in their efforts to raise financial and prayer support. Trip participants may begin fundraising after having been notified of acceptance to the team and informed of proper fundraising procedures. Detailed fundraising guidelines, materials, and deadlines will be provided at your 1st Team Meeting.

Once accepted for the trip, you will receive details on all deadlines for payments. Generally, half-funds are due approximately 3 months before departure with balance due two weeks before departure.  Half-funds are essential for the purchase of airline tickets. 

You can still apply for a trip.  Just make sure to apply for your passport quickly.  After receiving your passport, update your ServiceReef dashboard by uploading a clean, clear copy.  If your passport expires less than six months after your departure date, you will need to renew your passport as soon as possible.

Some of our trips require visas.  It is your responsibility to fill out the visa application. A clean clear passport copy of your information and photo is required to process your visa. The Southeast mission ministry will process your visa application.

You can contact the local travel clinic. They will be able to tell you the recommended vaccines you will need based on the country and city you will be visiting. Your team leader will be able to help you with that information.

All mission trips serve alongside current Southeast ministry partners and church plants that have requested trips. 

Our agent works to get affordable ticket prices and keep the cost low. Therefore, we are unable to manage the details of individual circumstances. Once your tickets are purchased a copy of your ticket info will be given to you by your team leader.  We encourage you to contact the airline or go online to have your flights applied to your airline miles.

We are one church with many locations.  Many of our locations have a desire to have a connection with several partners. However, this does not mean it is only for that campus.  We encourage all members of all locations to choose their trip not by campus location but where God is leading them to serve.
